Tickets available for Athletic Hall of Fame dinner The Midland Park Athletic Booster Association will host the Midland Park Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Brick House in Wyckoff on Saturday, March 23. The social hour will begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed by the dinner and ceremony at 8 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person. Fyke announces events Fyke Nature Association will host a woodcock watch at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge in Basking Ridge on March 9. The group will meet in the Heronry parking lot at Great Swamp at 4 p.m. Attendees should bring a light snack to enjoy while the group waits for sunset. Nature author David Wheeler will present an interactive lecture on New Jersey’s wildlife and outdoor activities at Fyke’s March 22 meeting. The group meets at the Allendale Municipal Building at 500 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. Join Wheeler on this nature safari and travel from the rugged mountains of the state’s northwest to the salt marshes of Cape May. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Adorno Fathers set Lenten Dinner The Adorno Fathers will host a Lenten Pasta Dinner on Friday, March 8 at the center located at 575 Darlington Avenue in Ramsey. Donations of $10 are requested; children under age eight will be admitted free. The menu includes pasta with clam or marinara sauce, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Adorno Fathers Seminary in Ramsey. Guild to meet The Bergen Chapter of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet March 11 at the Red Barn at Guardian Angel Church, 320 Franklin Turnpike in Allendale. Robert Tonner will discuss doll design. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the public is welcome to attend. Genealogical society hosts seminar The Genealogical Society of Bergen County will sponsor a one-day seminar, “Your Immigrant Ancestors: How to Find Them and How They Lived,” on Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program will be held at the Moses

Center at Bergen Community College in Paramus. Featured speaker Lisa Alzo, an avid genealogist for 22 years, teaches online genealogy courses for Family Tree University and the National Institute for Genealogical Studies. She was the recipient of the 2002 Mary Zirin Prize given by the Association for Women in Slavic Studies to recognize the achievements of independent scholars. Alzo has published numerous articles in genealogical publications, and has written nine books on genealogical topics. Alzo’s topics at the seminar will include: tracing immigrant ancestors, finding female ancestors, and demystifying Eastern European research. Chamber hosts networking events The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours event at Greenhouse Golf located at 140 Hopper Avenue in Waldwick. The event will be held on Thursday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Members and nonmembers are invited to this networking opportunity. Four long-time happily married couples who reside at Hillcrest Residence in Wyckoff celebrated Valentine’s Day reminiscing about past Valentine’s Days and talking about their families. Those couples included Marion and Raymond Schaper, formerly of Midland Park; Wilma and Henry Mol; Frieda and Gordon Bartlam, who raised their family in Midland Park and Franklin Lakes; and Johanna and Sam Van Grouw, who raised five sons in Midland Park. will be able to introduce themselves and their businesses. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Advance registration is preferred; an additional $5 processing fee will be charged if paid the day of the event. Refreshments will be served. On Tuesday, March 5, the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Inter-Chamber Consortium will host a 3-Minute Speed Networking Event.
