Page 14 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • February 20, 2013 Obituaries Raymond J. Atkinson of Midland Park, formerly of Saddle Brook, died Feb. 8. He was 83. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was the manager of quality control for Shulton, Inc., in Clifton. In retirement, he founded and ran Speeding Bullet Messengers, a delivery service for the advertising industry. Later, he worked for 17 years as a school bus driver for Murphy Bus Co., transporting hearing-impaired children to and from Midland Park’s public schools. He spent another two years as a driver for Mill Gardens in Midland Park. He was a parishioner of both the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park and Saint Francis of Assisi on Long Beach Island. He was a member of Nativity’s first Men’s Cornerstone, and remained active in that and other ministries for many years. At Saint Francis, he was a volunteer at the food pantry and with Family Promise of Ocean County. He was a member of the Lions Club of Midland Park, served as art director for several Midland Park High School Graduation Balls, and was an overnight volunteer with the Interreligious Fellowship for the Homeless. He is survived by his wife Lynn, his children David of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Shawn of Hightstown, Thomas of Hollywood, Florida, Andrew of Lake Grove, New York, Ramona Sue Starrett of Unadilla, New York, and Sara Atkinson-Moore of Arvada, Colorado; his stepchildren Kathe Olohan of Midland Park, Angela Sabatino of Montvale, Kristina Zak of Morristown, AnneMarie Ferentinos of Wyckoff, James Wohlberg of Wyckoff, and John Wohlberg of Hawthorne; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Florence Marie Broomhead, nee Petersen, of Wyckoff, formerly of Glen Rock and North Haledon, died Feb. 11. She had been a secretary and a model at Borden, Inc. and later worked at a real estate firm. She was a parishioner of Saint Catharine’s R.C. Church in Glen Rock. She is survived by her children Jean Carnevale of Allendale, Dr. Paul Broomhead of Thomaston, Connecticut, and Bonnie Siebert of Hawthorne. She was the grandmother of 10, and great-grandmother of 11. Before retiring in 1985, she was a librarian’s assistant at Indian Hills High School. She is survived by her daughters Vera E. Fremgen and Judith D. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park, where she was involved in many parish activities. She is survived by her children Maryann Meehan of Midland Park, Richard Keuerleber of York, Pennsylvania, Katherine Marsden of Waldwick, and John Keuerleber of Campbell Hall, New York, and 11 grandchildren. Before retiring, she was a legal secretary for Howard Stern, Esq. in Paramus for over 50 years. She was a founding member of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. She is survived by her brother Herbert F. Kolb of Allendale. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Hedwig (nee Kempa) Kolb, and her brother Frederick J. Kolb. He was predeceased by his mother Angelina, and his father-in-law Thomas. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Kevin Michael Walsh of Glen Rock died Feb. 8 He was 21. He was a parishioner of Saint Catherine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, and was a probationary member of the Glen Rock Fire Department. He was employed with the Radiator Store in Saddle Brook. He is survived by his parents Richard and Eileen (Buser) Walsh, his sisters Meghan and Katie Walsh, his grandmother Maria “Oma” Walsh, his aunts and uncles Mary-Ann Ruckhaus and her husband Mark, Kenny Buser and his wife Heather, Joseph Walsh and his wife Maggie, Robert Walsh and his wife Debbie, John Walsh and his wife Ruslana, and Paul Halsch. He is also survived by his cousins Sarah, Brian, Kelly, and Lorraine. He was predeceased by his grandparents Joseph Walsh, and Warren and Geraldine Buser, his uncle Michael Buser, and his aunt Lorraine Halsch. James Phillip Wrocklage of Waldwick died Feb. 8. He was 52. He was a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale. He was a volunteer at WPI Productions, and a volunteer photographer for the America Legion Post 57, both in Waldwick. A collector of military paraphernalia, he was well known for his World War I Doughboy uniform, which he wore at Memorial Day parades and other commemorative events. His followed his passion to gain recognition for local soldiers and sailors. He is survived by his mother Josephine A. of Waldwick, his siblings Thomas E. of Waldwick, Daniel G. of Kinnelon, Michael J. of Santa Barbara, California, Richard D. of Wanaque, Donald P. of Oakland, George J. of Upper Saddle River, Elizabeth M. Wrocklage of Waldwick, and Eileen M. Pillori of Parsippany. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, and two grand-nieces. He was predeceased by his father George H. Carol Zacharski of Glen Rock died Feb. 9. She was 61. She was a lunch aide at Central Elementary School in Glen Rock. She is survived by her brother Richard Zacharski and sister-in-law Nanci, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mildred Zacharski, and her sister Dolores Saxton. Kevin Michael Walsh Helen M. Kolb Florence Marie Broomhead William J. Lewicky of Franklin Lakes died Feb. 12. He was 83. Before retiring in 1985, he was employed at Becton Dickinson for 38 years. Lauren Keeley Patterson of Ho-Ho-Kus died Feb. 1. She was 58. She attended Ridgewood High School, where she was a senior cheerleader. She earned her BA at Drew University in 1976 and her MBA at Loyola-Chicago in 1978. She taught dance to Paterson fifth graders and Ridgewood Country Club members. She sang with the Roy Meyer Swingers and the Wyckoff YMCA Chorus. She was a member of the Valley Auxiliary and worked at the hospital’s visitors’ desk for many years, earning numerous awards for her volunteer efforts. She is survived by her husband Bill, her children Keeley and Will, and her brother Robert of Key West. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Virginia Keeley.
