Dedicated in 2012, Eastwick College’s library provides reference services, print resources, electronic databases and journals, online search instruction, and ebooks. The library’s extensive collection of books and media supports the college’s nursing and allied health, including the new occupational therapy assistant degree programs. “Service to our students has always been the focus of the library,” said Library Director Sisalee M. Hecht. “While this aspect has never changed, our library has grown and evolved in how we provide for the needs of every member of our student body.” Today’s libraries are more than repositories for books and other resources. Often the heart of communities, campuses, and schools, libraries are places where patrons study, live, and work. Libraries are also places where people gather to reconnect with each other to enrich and shape the community and address local issues. Librarians throughout the country work with students, faculty, small business owners, elected officials, and the public to discover – and meet -- their needs. Libraries also offer technology classes, materials for English-language learners, programs for job seekers, and more. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April.
