Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES Area IV • October 31, 2012 Hockey teams face off for cancer research The Palisades Predators and the Montclair Blues hockey clubs recently played a game at the Palisades Center Mall to benefit breast cancer research. With pink tape on their sticks and an eagerness to help in the fight against breast cancer, each player reached out to family and friends for sponsorships. The teams raised a total of $2,880, all of which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Anyone who wishes to donate to this cause may visit http://ww5.komen.org. The Palisades Predators Hockey Club is a youth travel hockey program dedicated to promoting each player’s love for the game while promoting positive social skills and respect for all. Stanley Kober, Vietnam veteran and commander of Washington Elm VFW Post 192 (Ridgewood/Ho-Ho-Kus), will present “You Just Had to Be There: Vietnam, February 1968 to February 1969” on Saturday, Nov. 17. Kober’s program will feature recollections, facts, and photos. Vietnam War program announced The event will be held at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Ridgewood Public Library located at 125 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood. This is one of many events planned around the country to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
