The drive will take place at the senior citizen center located in Finch Park. Food donations may be dropped off between 2 and 4 p.m. The organization suggests the following food items: frozen turkeys, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, canned fruit, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, boxed pie crust, pumpkin pie filling, Parmalat milk, coffee, tea, and roasting pans. Please note: Donations in glass containers cannot be accepted. Ramsey Responds also welcomes supermarket gift certificates ranging from $10 to $50. Seniors plan Christmas celebration The Ramsey Seniors will hold the club’s annual Christmas Party at the Ramsey Country Club on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Signup will begin Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. at borough hall. The cost to attend is $30 and the event will feature dancing to music by Ron Delapina. The borough will provide transportation for Ramsey seniors who do not drive for $3 roundtrip. To arrange for transportation, call (201) 825-3400. Counseling organization holds craft program Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling of Ramsey will hold its first Holiday Memorial Craft Program on Saturday, Nov. 17 at their Carriage House, located at 60 East Main Street, Ramsey. The program, held from 4 to 5:30 p.m., will give bereaved children an opportunity to meet other children in similar situations. Participants will create a special craft in memory of a loved one and enjoy a snack while their parents and/or family members socialize in the loft. There is no cost to attend this program. Play center holds Open House During the week of Nov. 12, the New Park ‘N Play, an indoor play center located in Ramsey, will host a free Open House for prospective families. Open to all children from newborn to age six, the New Park ‘N Play offers unlimited play from Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Membership is $225 per family. The New Park ‘N Play, a non-profit organization run by volunteer parents, provides a creative, safe, and clean indoor play center for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Parade participants sought The Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Home for the Holidays event on Saturday, Dec. 8. Ramsey Reads to discuss ‘Comfort Food’ “Ramsey Reads,” the town-wide book club, will meet Nov. 13 for a discussion of Kate Jacobs’ “Comfort Food.” Copies are available at the Ramsey Library at 30 Wyckoff Avenue. Just 1,500 tickets will be sold at $10 each. Three cash prizes will be awarded. If all the tickets are sold, the first place winner will receive $3,750, the second place winner will be awarded $2,250, and the third place winner will receive $1,500. Friends to host varied programs The Friends of the Ramsey Library will host various programs in the coming months. The events are held at the library located 30 Wyckoff Avenue. The Friends’ sale of the “2013 Book Lover’s Calendars” is now under way. Calendars will be sold at the library throughout the fall. Upcoming cultural arts events provided by the Friends of the Library will include: Nov. 18, the Bernstein Bard Quartet’s program of contemporary folk and jazz; Dec. 16, A Les Paul & Mary Ford Tribute by Tom & Sandy Doyle; Feb. 10, 2013 Broadway Show Tunes performed by Nancy L. Club plans theater trip The Leisure Club will travel to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania for a Christmas show on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
