Joaquin Fiffe of Mahwah, formerly of Lyndhurst, died Nov. 9. He was 88. He had been a welder for Concrete Specialties of Lyndhurst. He is survived by his wife Zoila (nee Virues) Fiffe, his daughter Caridad “Carrie” Gallorini, and two grandchildren. Arrangements were made by IppolitoStellato Funeral Home in Lyndhurst. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep and Saint Vincent’s College, and did his post graduate work at Penn State. He also obtained various nutritional certifications. He was the proprietor of Cordially Yours in Ramsey. He served as director of the Ramsey Board of Health, and was vice president of A.M.F. Bowling Division, proprietor of Here’s Health of Ramsey, and director of instruction at the Bergen County Police and Fire Academy. He is survived by his wife Antoinette, and his children Vicki Gentempo Ofmani, Joseph Gentempo, and Dr. Patrick Gentempo Jr., 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by his parents Victoria and Joseph Gentempo, and his sister Rose Esposito. Arrangements were made by Van EmburghSneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. Harned Jr. of Monroe Township and Pinellas Park, Florida, formerly of Wyckoff, died Oct. 10. He was 82. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Ursinus College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Before retiring in 1987, he was an executive with IBM for 32 years. He was a member of the Montclair Ski Club and the Hopewell Golf Club. He was a volunteer fireman in Wyckoff. He is survived by his ex-wife Louise McCutcheon, his daughter Nancy Warner of Goshen, New York, his stepchildren Dr. Maria Georgsson of Flemington, Eva Georgsson of New York City, and Sverrir Georgsson of Newark, Delaware, three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, his companion Ann Nuzzo, and his sister Carolyn Landi of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Orlando A. “Mooney” Melillo of Mahwah, formerly of North Arlington, died Nov. 9. He was 93. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Before retiring, he was a cement truck driver for Loizeau Concrete in Elizabeth and a member of the Teamsters. He is survived by his wife Ann (nee Ross), his children Nicholas and Eloise Melillo, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his nine siblings. Michele Pascarella formerly of Upper Saddle River died Nov. 10. He was 93. He served in World War II in Italy. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received his MA from Middlebury College and returned to France to teach English at Lycee Henri Quatre in Paris. Before retiring in 1986, he spent 38 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as an insurance investigator, claims manager, and later in New York business sales. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, where he sang with the church choir and with the Cavaliers of Harmony, a barbershop chorus. He was the leader of a barbershop quartet, The Pierce Arrows. He is survived by his wife Elaine (nee: Torbert) Pierce, his sons Edward of Wellesley, Massachusetts, William of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, John of Ridgewood, and Robert of Newton, Massachusetts, his stepchildren Thomas Oakley of Coventry, Connecticut, Bruce Oakley of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, Carol Stanhope of West Milford, eight grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren. He worked for IBM for 25 years, first as an accountant, then in the education department, and then as chief photographer in the communications department. He was a member of the Ridgewood Camera Club and of the Professional Photographers of America. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. He is survived by his wife Maxine, his children Debra Koesel and Victoria Salemi, and one grandson. He was predeceased by his parents Stella and Salvatore Salemi, and his sisters Rose Salemi, Catherine Salemi, and Lucy Antonelli. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff.
