Wesley Barber Sr. of Toms River, formerly of Allendale, and Middletown, died Oct. 31. He was 84. He is survived by his wife Maureen (nee Robb) Barber, his sons Wesley Jr. and Stephen, and four grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Memorial donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy in Arlington, Virginia at www.nature.org. Concetta Corso, nee Muscarelle, of Wyckoff, formerly of Garfield, died Nov. 3. She was 98. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church. She is survived by her daughters Marilyn Camp, Sadye Melchiorre, and Sandy Obuchowski, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Rocco, her grandson Paul Melchiorre, and her siblings Joseph, Sam, Ralph, and Charles Muscarelle, and Sadie DePalma, and Grace Calendrillo. Arrangements were made by Aloia Funeral Home in Garfield. Memorial donations may be made to Valley Hospice. Aline Regina Hendrickson of Mahwah died Nov. 6. She was 76. She was a secretary at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, and a supporter of Opus Dei. She is survived by her husband John, her children John Eric and Vivian O’Connell, and her siblings Stephen Gillis and Carol Gillis. Arrangements were made by Scarr Funeral Home in Suffern. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Vincent’s Depaul Society of Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, New York. Jerome E. Kinnealy of Ridgewood died Nov. 7. He was 70. He was a U.S. National Guard veteran. He had been employed in the advertising department Macy’s in Newark for 30 years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood, where he was an usher for 30 years. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Kinnealy Wolfson of Bergenfield, one grandchild, and his brothers Eugene and John. He had a private practice in general surgery and medicine in Wayne for 35 years. He was an attending physician at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, Fair Lawn Memorial Hospital, and Wayne General, where he was chief of the surgery department and president of the medical staff. He is survived by his wife Carla Kipiani (née Turco), his children Victor Kipiani, Paul Kipiani, Christopher Kipiani, and Kristine Kipiani, and one grandson. Lia of Allendale, formerly of Hillsdale, died Nov. 5. He was 95. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife Lucille, his children Gary Lia and Annette Bolyai, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his brother Ralph Lia. He was predeceased by his sister Rose LaGratta. Peirsel of Port Orchard, Washington, formerly of Wyckoff, died Sept. 7. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring, he was a self-employed carpenter and contractor in Wyckoff. He is survived by his wife Diana, his children Shaun of Port Orchard, Washington and Stacey of Hoboken, and two grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She received her master’s degree in teaching at SUNY in Albany, and taught at Tenafly and Paramus Catholic high schools. She held positions at Matson Lines in New York City and at Dow Chemical. She was a participant in the Ramapo Valley Chapter of the Sweet Adelines, and a member of the choir of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, where, in her retired years, she was the choir librarian. She is survived by her husband Robert, her children Gary Rouffa, Lynne Springer, Wade Rouffa, and Carole Rouffa, and four grandchildren. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh, Inc. in Ridgewood. Phyllis Reiff of Midland Park, formerly of Monroe Township, died Nov. 7. She was 91. She volunteered at Monroe Township Community Center for the Elderly, and crocheted blankets for the Linus Foundation. She is survived by her daughter Marcia Rieff and son-in-law Jonathan, one grandchild, and her brother Gilbert Chalfin. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Phillip Reiff.

Gerard “Gerry” Shamdosky of Ramsey died Nov. 4. He was 61. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran. He had been employed as vice president of finance with the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade for 18 years. Prior employment had been with Batus Retail in New York City, Passport Foods in Carlstadt, Bloomingdale’s in Manhattan, and with the apparel division of K-Mart early in his career. He was a former choir member at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church in Hoboken, where he was instrumental in the restoration of their historic organ. He was a member of the Organ Historical Society, American Guild of Organists, Friends of the Wanamaker Organ, and the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society. He is survived by his wife Nancy (nee Frast) of Ramsey, his father Stephen Shamdosky of Cliffside Park, his sisters Linda Chittae and Maryann Shamdosky, both of Cliffside Park, and two nieces. He was predeceased by his mother Norren (nee Glaser). Arrangements were made by Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home in Clifton. Jennie Sweeney, nee Panaro, of Mahwah, formerly of Cliffside Park, died Nov. 5. She was 91. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her children Lorraine Cuniberti, Christine Curran, and Eugene Sweeney, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Timothy. Arrangements were made by A.K. Macagna Funeral Home in Cliffside Park. John F. Wagner of Glen Rock died Nov. 4. He was 82. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He attended Xavier High School and Georgetown University. He worked with his father at Joseph F. Wagner Publishing in New York City, the publishers of Catholic church music, magazines, and books. Following his work in publishing, he worked as a consultant with AT Hudson, and as real estate broker for Weichert Realtors in Glen Rock. He was active at the Saint Catharine’s R.C. Church in Glen Rock. He volunteered with the interfaith homeless network, aiding families in need of food and shelter. A room for homeless families at Saint Catharine’s parish was recently dedicated in his name. He had received many awards, including Catholic Layman of the Year, a listing in the “Catholic Who’s Who,” and awards for his work as a publisher and a Realtor. He is survived by his children Caroline, Paul, John, Mark, Chris, Gregory, and Barbara, 14 grandchildren, and his brother Joseph. He was predeceased by his wife Patrice Coyle Wagner, and his daughter Mary Patricia. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Memorial donations may be made to the Mary Pat Wagner Scholarship at either Mercy College or the Tri-County Scholarship Fund.
