The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce is offering multiple events and business networking opportunities in November. New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno will be the guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce’s networking luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 29. The event will be held at the Hilton at 200 Tice Boulevard in Woodcliff Lake from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program will begin with a halfhour of open networking followed by the luncheon and the address from the Lieutenant Governor. Guadagno will provide an overview of economic issues, discuss the outlook for job growth in 2013, and review accomplishments of the past year. The cost to attend this event is $50 for Chamber members and $75 for non-members. Advance registration is advised as seating is limited. An additional $5 processing fee will be charged if paid the day of event. The event is sponsored by Goldstein Lieberman & Co. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Chamber of commerce announces November events
On Nov. 14, the Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, along with other Chambers in the Inter-Chamber Consortium of Bergen and Passaic counties, will host Mega-Net 2012. This networking event is open to all businesses and will be held at Maggiano’s Restaurant located at The Shops at Riverside, 390 Hackensack Avenue in Hackensack. Hours will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mega-Net 2012 will include light refreshments and a cash bar. Participants are reminded to bring a good supply of business cards. The cost of the event is $15 for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. Advance registration is preferred. On Nov. 9, senior vice president of philanthropy and community relations of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, Rich Petriccione Ph.D., will be the guest speaker at the Chamber’s networking luncheon. The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the River Palm Terrace at 209 Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah. This luncheon is sponsored by the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Suffern, New York. The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Company, a Section 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation, runs the Super Bowl Host Committee. The committee is working to ensure that Super Bowl XLVIII, which will be held Feb. 2, 2014 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, will be successful. The group is helping to coordinate many of the events that lead up to and surround the
game, and is looking for volunteers who can help visitors. The cost of the luncheon is $40 for Chamber members and $55 for non-members. Captain Raymond P. Bailey of the Ramsey Police Department was seriously injured during the height of the Hurricane Sandy on Monday, Oct. 29. At 9:21 p.m., Captain Bailey, a 26-year veteran of the department, was attempting close off Oakridge Road at the intersection of Darlington Avenue due to trees across the

roadway. A tree that was located on the northeast corner of this intersection fell on top of Captain Bailey. Members of the Ramsey Police Department and Ramsey Rescue used chainsaws to cut the tree and extract Captain Bailey. Captain Bailey was then transported to the hospital with leg and back injuries.
