She was a member of the Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood and its women’s guild. She volunteered at the Bergen Pines County Hospital, providing hairdressing services to elderly and infirm residents. She is survived by her children James of Ridgewood, Jill Price of Marlboro, Joann Rauso of Red Bank, and Joseph of Lodi, four grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, one niece, and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband James Harris, her parents Joseph and Velma Cheney, and her sister Sarah Martha Southwick. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Before retiring in 1980, he was chemist at Diamond Shamrock for 36 years. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of Joseph F. Lamb Assembly #665 in Ridgewood. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He served as treasurer for the Holy Name Society in Bogota. He is survived by his wife Marion (nee: Walsh), his children Thomas E. Howlett of Maywood, Michael G. Howlett of Wyckoff, Vincent J. Howlett of Wyckoff, Marie E. Howlett of Franklin Lakes, three grandchildren, and his siblings Mae Chrisenowski, Eileen Bordt, and William Howlett. He was predeceased by his son Jack. He graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in 1978, and from University of New Hampshire in 1983. She was 89. She was a secretary for Curtiss-Wright in Woodridge, and a member of the First Reformed Church in Hawthorne. She is survived by her children Jane Pierce of Midland Park and Harold Pierce of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, her granddaughter Dawn Pierce of Layton, Utah, and her sister Isabelle Hin of Totowa. He was 100. He was the founder of Van Beuzekom, Inc., from which he retired in 1983. He was a builder and a home remodeler. He was a Certified Kitchen Designer and a former member of the Kitchen and Bath Association. He was also a past president of the Hawthorne Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife Henrietta, his children Joyce Ann McGeechan of Gainesville, Virginia, Fred Van Beuzekom of Waldwick, and Hank Van Beuzekom of Ringoes, seven grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren. Dorothy “Dot” Louise Ade, nee Bartoldus, of Mahwah, formerly of Allendale, died Oct. 24. She was 85. She was a volunteer with the Friends of the Lee Memorial Library in Allendale for over a decade. She is survived by her sons Brian, Robert, and Timothy, seven grandchildren, her sister Florence Refolo, and sister-in-law Barbara Famular. She was predeceased by her husband Bob.
