Update for LifeLines meeting day The date of the LifeLines support group meeting was incorrectly reported in last week’s edition. The group will meet on Tuesday, May 29 at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road in Upper Saddle River, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The group was formed by prostate cancer patients to share information and experience about available treatment and service resources. Graydon membership open to area residents The Village of Ridgewood has announced that membership at Graydon Pool will be open to area families for the 13week 2012 season. The cost is $175 for non-resident adults and $155 for children, ages two through 15. To purchase badges, visit www.ridgewoodnj.net/communitypass. In-person registration assistance will be available May 28 from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Graydon Pool Badge Office, 259 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood. Badges may be purchased daily throughout the operating season. Opening weekend will be June 2. Pool amenities include “The Wibit,” a modular play system aquatrack providing added physical fitness, a lending library of books, volleyball, basketball, ping-pong tables, shuffleboard, four-squares, hopscotch, a shaded playground, water features, shade kites, Adirondack chairs, a picnic area, a sheltered pavilion, charcoal grills, and The Water’s Edge Café. Special programs include “Storytime under a Tree” for little ones, swim instruction for children and adults, and an adaptive swim class. Motorists alerted to gas main work Local police remind motorists that Wyckoff Avenue between Spring Meadow Road and Woodbury Drive in Wyckoff will have alternating lane traffic while PSE&G crews and contractors perform gas main replacement work. The work is expected to be completed on or around June 11, weather permitting. Work will be under way Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No work is planned for Saturday or Sunday. The Pastoral Care Department of Christian Health Care Center recently held a Spring Clergy Day for area clergy. ‘Pastoring in the Eye of the Storm: Centering Your Ministry in an Overwhelming World’ featured Rev. N. Graham Standish, PhD, MSW, senior minister at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, Pennsylvania and adjunct professor, doctor of ministry program, at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lions seek summer campers Area Lions Club are seeking children and teens with blindness, visual impairments, and special needs for the club’s residential summer camp. This year, camp will be held from July 29 through Aug. 4, and Aug. 5 through 11. Camp Marcella, located in Rockaway, offers a true-tolife camping experience for children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend a summer camp. Wander to address Fyke Nature Association Wade Wander will present “Looking for Coneheads: The Weird and Wonderful World of Insects” at the May 25 meeting of the Fyke Nature Association. Wander will show photographs and discuss some fascinating life-history information about common and not-so-common species of insects that may be found in many yards, neighborhoods,
and local natural areas. The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. in the Allendale Municipal Building, 500 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. Dancers welcome new members The North Jersey English Country Dancers welcome newcomers to their Sunday afternoon dance. All dances are taught and prompted, and the music is live.
