On Palm Sunday, April 1, a Hosanna Day Family Service will be held at 10 a.m. This service will feature the distribution of palms and a procession from the parish hall to the sanctuary. Worship music will prepare worshipers for the Holy Week journey. The Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 5 and will include personal meditation, prayers, music, and Communion. Two Good Friday services based on the theme, “Nails of the Cross” will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on April 6. At each service, worshipers will be given a nail as a symbol of personal suffering. There will be Scripture readings, prayers, hymns, and the candles will be extinguished. On Easter Sunday, April 8, a 10 a.m. service will celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. A sermon will be delivered by Pastor Marsden, and special music by the choir, organ, and brass, and the congregation joining the choir in Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” will be featured. Abundant Life celebrates the season Abundant Life Reformed Church will begin Holy Week with the distribution of palms at the 10:30 a.m. service on April 1. On Thursday April 5 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a light meal commemorating Jesus’ Last Supper. A worship service with Holy Communion will follow. All are welcome. Participants are asked to bring a hot or cold dish to share. On April 7, the youth group will hold a Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for those age two through fifth grade. Holy Week will conclude with the Easter Resurrection Worship Service on Sunday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. The service will feature special music from the choir, the children’s choir, and a message from Rev. Church schedules Easter events Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff will hold traditional services at 9 and 11 a.m. on Palm Sunday, April 1. On Holy Thursday, April 5, the noon service will be held in the Chapel. The 8 p.m. service will include communion and a reenactment of the Last Supper. A Service of the Tenebrae will be held at 8 p.m. on Good Friday, April 6. There will be an Easter Breakfast, Puppet Show, and Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The event will feature ventriloquist Marian Gehman of Marian and Friends. Her shows feature a variety of zany characters, audience-involvement, and an inspirational message. A freewill family offering will be accepted. The event is open to the public. Holy Cross announces schedule Holy Cross Lutheran Church-LCMS will begin its Holy Week services with the Procession with Palms and Holy Communion on Palm/Passion Sunday, April 1. On April 5, eight members of the church will celebrate their First Holy Communion. The service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a reenactment of the Last Supper. A Tennebrae Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Good Friday, April 6. The church will be open until 11 p.m. for reflection and prayer. The annual Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast will be held Saturday, April 7 at 9 a.m. Tickets are $8. Children under three years old will be admitted free. Easter Sunday will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a Sunrise Service and Holy Communion. Easter Breakfast will follow. All are invited. Trinity prepares for Easter On Passion/Palm Sunday, April 1, Trinity Episcopal Church in Allendale will hold an 8 a.m. Eucharist service with palms. The 10 a.m. service with celebrant Bishop Mark Beckwith will include a palm processional. The service on Maundy Thursday, April 5, will include a traditional foot washing at 7:30 p.m., and a Garden of Gethsemane Service at 8:30 p.m. followed by an Agape Meal at 9 p.m. Trinity will hold Good Friday Services at 3 and 7:30 p.m. on April 6. The Holy Saturday service on April 7 will be at 9 a.m., and the Easter Vigil will begin at 7 p.m. On Easter Sunday, April 8, services will held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The latter service will include a special “flowering of the cross.” All are welcome.
