National effort hits home
Registration for the Township of Mahwah Municipal Pool will open in April. Reduced membership rates are available to those who register by April 30. Application forms will be mailed to all residents and former pool members the first week in April. Additional applications are available at the municipal building at 475 Corporate Drive. The Mahwah Pool welcomes non-residents, who may call the pool for application forms after April 1, or pick them up at the municipal building. The pool facilities, which are located at 700 Darlington Avenue in Mahwah, will open for the 2012 season on Saturday, May 26 at 11:30 a.m. Call (201) 529-4949.

Mahwah Education Association’s public school teachers recently hosted ‘The Cat in the Clubhouse’ as part of the national Read Across America program. This National Education Association project promotes literacy and celebrates the birthday of children’s author, Dr. Seuss. Mahwah’s ‘readers’ presented Dr. Seuss stories, served birthday cake, and gave out books to pre-K through third graders at six local clubhouses: Apple Ridge, Franklin Crossing, Ramapo Brae Community Center, Ramapo Ridge, and Society Hill.
