Children ages three through 10 are welcome, and must be out of diapers and pull-ups. The evening will include movies, games, snacks, and activities for the children. The high school-age Girl Scouts are Red Cross babysitter and first aid certified. Troop parents will also be on hand to supervise. The cost is $12 per child. Proceeds from this event will help the Girl Scouts raise funds for educational travel opportunities in California, Alabama, and Europe. Holy Cross hosts breakfast, bunny The Easter Bunny will visit at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 125 Glasgow Terrace, on Saturday, April 7 at 9 a.m. The morning will begin with a breakfast of pancakes, sausages, juice, and coffee. There will be activities for children, followed by a puppet show about the real meaning of Easter at 10 a.m. At the conclusion of the puppet show, an Easter Egg Hunt will be held on the church grounds. Chamber holds networking event The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a Business After Hours networking event for Chamber members and non-members at Oritani Bank on Wednesday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oritani Bank is located at 161 North Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey. Refreshments will be available. Oritani Bank is a community bank with over $2 billion in assets that has been serving customers for over 100 years. Headquartered in Washington Township, Oritani has 25 branches throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties. The event is $15 for Chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Meet the Bunny festival set Hop on over to Continental Soldiers Park on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m. for Mahwah’s annual “Meet the Bunny” festival. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of face painting, balloon art, egg dying, and prizes. All Mahwah residents are welcome. The event will take place rain or shine. Continental Soldiers Park is located at 550 Ramapo Valley Road. Scouts hold Food Drive Mahwah Scouts will support the national Scouting for Food program this month. Boys recently distributed yellow bags to homes in Mahwah. Residents are asked to fill the bags with nonperishable food items and leave them on their front porches by 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 31. The donated food will be brought to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah. Library offers programs for adults The Mahwah Public Library offers a variety of free programs for adults. Seating is provided on a “first come” basis. “Rave On!, featuring the music of Buddy Holly will be presented on Sunday, April 1 at 2 p.m. Guitarist/lead vocalist Chris Roselle, bass guitarist Pete Farley, and drummer Don Guinta will entertain with hits “That’ll Be the Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “Not Fade Away,” “Oh Boy,” “It’s So Easy,” and “Rave On!” along with other early rock songs that influenced The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and countless other artists. Bob Malgieri will present “Pruning Pointers” on Wednesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. Malgieri is the tree and shrub manager for Borst Landscape and Design. On April 15, vocalist Shirley Crabbe will present “The Incomparable Ethel Waters” at 2 p.m. Celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month with the songs made famous by America’s first black superstar. Waters was a woman of the theater, a celebrity, and an influential singer whose distinctive jazz singing and interpretive abilities have been credited with influencing several of America’s greatest vocalists. Crabbe studied voice at the Manhattan School of Music and, in the evening, traveled downtown to sing in the clubs. She has performed at Birdland, the Paramount Theater, and opened for jazz icon Abby Lincoln. The library is located at 100 Ridge Road in Mahwah. Chamber lunch to feature local authors The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a lunch for members and non-members on Wednesday, April 4 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Double Tree Hotel, 180 Route 17 South in Mahwah. Several MRCC member authors will be on hand to introduce their recent books. Members are also welcome to pick up, or drop off, promotional material and literature at the event’s information table.
