He is survived by his son David; his brother JB Deal; his ex-wife Leonora Deal and her children Debbie Lesh, Karen Essman, Larry Janisheski, and Joe Janisheski; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Garfield High School Class of 1962. He was a salesman for Stevens Paints in Yonkers, New York, and for other industrial paint, wall covering, retail and wholesale paint companies. He volunteered as a referee and coach for recreation soccer and competitive travel teams. He is survived by his wife Beverly (Dusheck), his daughter Michele Gimon, and grandson Kyle George Contarino. Martin of Montague, formerly of Waldwick, Mahwah, Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania, and Lake Worth, Florida, died March 8. He was 86. He was a U.S. Navy Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was an automobile service manager at the Mahwah Ford and Woodbridge Ford dealerships for 40 years, and retired in 1991. He was active in the Cub Scouts and Little League in Waldwick, served as president of the North East Ford Dealer Service Organization, and was a member of the Ramsey Bowling League. He is survived by his wife Ruth R. Martin, his children Billy William Deal Alan Martin of Hampton Township and Nancy White of Mahwah, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Joanne Shalhoub of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Renee Shalhoub of Mahwah, and Raymond Shalhoub Fort Lauderdale, Florida, seven nieces and nephews, and five great-nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation. George Van Heest of Mahwah, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died March 9. He was 89. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a self-employed carpenter and retired from the Valley Hospital in that trade. He was a 50-year member of the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church since 1943.
