On Feb. 14, the investigation culminated in Detective Adam Szelag’s arrest of a 48-year-old Mahwah woman, who was charged with theft of property. At 4:53 a.m. on Feb. 15, Patrolman Jeff Guilfoyle was dispatched to East Crescent Avenue to investigate a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash in which a vehicle struck a mailbox. Upon arrival, the officer was directed to a vehicle stopped nearby. At the conclusion of the investigation, a Ridgewood man, 24, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Patrolman Mike Parise conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 17 South at 1:16 a.m. on Feb. 19 after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, an odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle. At the conclusion of the stop, a 21-year-old man from Spring Valley, New York and a 28year-old man from Paramus were arrested for possession of marijuana. At 9:16 p.m. on Feb. 19, Patrolman Mike Parise conducted a motor vehicle stop on a speeding vehicle on Route 17 North. At the conclusion of the stop, a Shoreham, New York man was arrested for possession of marijuana. At 11:57 p.m. the same day, Patrolman Jeff Guilfoyle conducted a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle being carelessly driven on Borough police department reports recent activity Route 17 North. During the stop, an odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle. At the conclusion of the stop, the driver, a 19-year-old man from Springfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and for being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Two passengers, a 20-year-old man from Passaic and a 20-year-old man from Princeton, were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. On Feb. 20 at 10:15 p.m., Patrolman Mike Parise was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of a Main Street business. During the investigation, the officer determined that the driver, a 20year-old Ramsey man, was under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Patrolman Mike Parise was patrolling the parking lot of a Route 17 North business at 2:24 a.m. on Feb. 21 when he investigated a suspicious vehicle that was occupied. At the conclusion of the stop, a 23-yer-old man from Mahwah was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. At 9:43 p.m. the same day, Patrolman Bryan Arsi was dispatched to a Main Street business for a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, he located the described driver and conducted an investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 46year-old Ramsey woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated. On Feb. 22 at 9:30 a.m., Patrolman Jeff Guilfoyle conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. At the conclusion of the stop, a Mahwah man, 45, was arrested for a traffic warrant. Also on Feb. 22, a 41-year-old man from Hazelton, Pennsylvania reported to the Ramsey Police Department to satisfy a warrant. Patrolman Erik Sanders processed the arrest.
