She began her career working with children with special needs. Booth is known for her efforts to bring special education into her mainstream classroom. She is currently teaching the Kindergarten Wrap Program at Tisdale Elementary School and is attending graduate school at Montclair State University. She wrote the poem, ‘I Am a Child with Autism,’ which has been posted on the Autism Speaks website. Report cards (continued from page 12) average was 39.9 percent. The high school report card indicates that the Class of 2011 graduation rate at Mahwah High School was 96.2 percent. The 2010-11 student/administrator ratio at Mahwah High was 106.3 students to one administrator, while the state average was 190:1. The student/faculty ratio was 10.7 students to one faculty member, while the state average was 11:1. The report card also indicates that 97.2 percent of the faculty and administration have master’s degrees, while 2.8 percent have Ph.D. or Ed.D. degrees. The median salaries for administrators and faculty members were $128,500 and $69,785, respectively. The state averages were $119,491 and $63,851. Mahwah’s administrators average 18 years of experience, and faculty members average 12 years of experience. The state averages are 19 and 10 years, respectively. The district’s total cost per pupil for as compared to other districts of similar operating or budget type was $13,333. The total per pupil cost, including tuition, transportation, lease purchase interest, residential costs, judgments against the district, equipment, facilities/acquisition costs, restricted expenses less nonpublic services and adult schools, and students sent out of district, was $17,521 per pupil. The councilman earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from William Paterson University. He is currently director of operations for Englewood Tire Wholesale. Heller received 20 votes in his bid for a seat on the Ramsey Republican County Committee in District 3. Heller challenged Douglas Rennie, who received 81 ballots. Rennie’s wife, Emily Rennie, ran unopposed for a seat on the committee. The committee seeks one male and one female member from each of the borough’s voting districts. The addition of two new voting districts expanded the opportunities for those who wish to serve on the county committees. With the addition of Districts 7 and 8 this year, Richard Daul was elected to the Republican County Committee in District 7 and Abbas Safai and Katherine Safai were elected to seats in District 8. The successful Democratic County Committee candidates include Francis Kelaher and Mary Ann Cary in District 1 and Louis Moore in District 4. A chief function of the county committees is exercised when a member of the council resigns in the middle of his or her term. The county committee organization associated with the resigning council member’s political party is charged with providing the council with the names of three prospective candidates from the same party, and the council selects a new member.
