The library needs assistance with the Summer Reading Program, shelving books and media, registering children for their reading clubs, and handing out prizes. Students who will be entering grades 11 and 12 are invited to apply to assist at “Teen Tuesdays,” five weekly special events. An information session will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 3:30 or 7 p.m. or on Monday, June 11 at 3:30 p.m. for those interested in volunteering. The library is located at 30 Wyckoff Avenue. ‘Joseph…’ to be presented Saint John’s Memorial Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Franklin Turnpike and Main Street in Ramsey, will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on June 8 and 9 at 8 p.m. and on June 10 at 3 p.m. The cast and musical ensemble includes talented Saint John’s parishioners of all ages and members of the community. The group meets at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 55 Wyckoff Avenue at 11 a.m. This meeting is open to the public. Church announces events The First Presbyterian Church, located at 15 Shuart Lane in Ramsey, has planned several June events. On June 10, the Bible School Teacher Appreciation Day and Attendance Awards Presentation will be held at the 10 a.m. worship service. The choir will sing, and a church picnic will follow. Fire department hosts Annual Golf Outing The Ramsey Fire Department will sponsor its second This team has heart Team I Heart You was among the 79 teams that participated in Relay for Life at Ramsey High School. The team, made up mostly of childhood friends who are now in high school, raised over $7,500 for the American Cancer Society and was recognized for its fundraising efforts. The American Cancer Society Relay for Life presented Team I Heart You with a Platinum Team Level Club sign for its achievement. The dedication and hard work of all involved in this event and in the community of Ramsey raised $186,000. Fundraising efforts will continue until Aug. 30. Seniors announce events Ramsey Seniors have planned a day trip to KyKuit, the Rockefeller estate in the Sleep Hollow section of New York State, for Wednesday, July 2. Attendees will tour the terraced gardens and the home of four generations of Rockefellers. The estate includes art by Picasso, Henry Moore, and David Smith, and a collection of classic automobiles and horse drawn carriages. Learn about the family’s philanthropy, conservation efforts, and civic service. The day will include a buffet lunch at Sunset Cove in Tarrytown, and a visit to Union Church to view stained glass windows by Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall. The cost is $65 per person and includes transportation. The bus will depart from Finch Park at 8:45 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. Sign up will begin on June 12 at 10 a.m. in borough hall, 33 North Central Avenue in Ramsey.
