He was a stone mason and builder for over 30 years, after which he was employed with the Waldwick Board of Education for 20 years. He was a ham radio operator and founder of the 240 DX Group. He was a New Jersey State Champion skeet shooter. He is survived by his children Anthony D’Ercole of Acworth, Georgia and Stephen D’Ercole of Friendswood, Texas, five grandchildren, and his siblings Yolanda Tolisano, Edith Coveney, Joseph D’Ercole, and Silivio D’Ercole. He was predeceased by his wife Ginger Blom D’Ercole, his parents Luigi and Anna D’Ercole, his brothers Renata, Raymond, Frederick, and Robert, and his sister Yolanda D’Ercole. Stella S. Gennaro, nee Baron, of Glen Rock died July 19. She was 97. Before retiring, she was employed by Eastman Kodak in Fair Lawn for 26 years. She was a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock and a member of its Association of Mature Parishioners. She was a member of the Glen Rock Seniors and the Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her children Andrew Gennaro and Marilyn Ingulli, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Angelo Gennaro, and her daughter Virginia James. Dorothea K. “Dottie” Hansen, of Westwood, formerly of Ridgewood, Saddle River and Mahwah, died July 15. She was 88. She graduated from Syracuse University where she was the first president of the school’s Delta Delta Delta sorority and remained an active member throughout her life. After college, she taught home economics in Auburn, New York. She had worked at Tice’s Farms in Woodcliff Lake. She is survived by her sons John C. Hansen of Burke, Virginia, Peter R. Hansen of Midland Park, and Mark E. Hansen of Delmar, New York, and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Don Hansen. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. She began a Anthony L. D’Ercole career in banking with National Community Bank, which was later incorporated into The Bank of New York, where she eventually became the assistant vice president of trust accounting. She was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church. She is survived by her husband Joseph E. Jaske. She was predeceased by her first husband C. Andrew Ferwerda, and her brother James Driesse. She is survived by her children Aline Simonyan and Rita Purdy, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary. She was 93. For over 25 years, she was a home health aide and was honored for her service by the Visiting Homemaker Home Health Aide Service of Bergen County. She performed with a variety of singing groups and church choirs. She is survived by her daughter Angel Chiappa and son-in-law Preston of Cupertino, California and by her daughter Andrea DeVinney of Ramsey. She is also survived by five grandchildren. He was an executive with IBM and The Conference Board for 47 years. He was a Vergin Kececioglu parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes, and served on the boards of The Valley Hospital and Arcola Country Club. He was a member of the Chevaliers du Tastevin. He is survived by his wife Virginia (nee Kane) Wirts, his children Timothy Wirts, Louise Riccobene, Elizabeth Hunter, and Jay Wirts, and nine grandchildren. He said two employees would be moved to the water department; one would be laid off from October to January, when it is anticipated that employee would be rehired due to a vacancy created by a retirement; and two employees who were hired last spring as temporary employees would be placed on a re-hire list. He anticipated that they would be rehired in January 2013. As of January, Laforet maintains, there would be no job loss as a result of his proposal. “A lot of research was put into this topic to ensure it was in the best interest of the taxpayer with the end result of improved services in a more cost effective manner while minimizing the impact on employees,” Laforet explained. “It is important to mention that Mahwah is one of only a few communities in Bergen County utilizing DPW employees to pick up recycling materials while other communities outsource the function to private vendors.” The council decided not to act on the mayor’s proposal until more information is provided to them to support the potential savings from the outsourcing proposal. The approval also contains the condition that the applicant must obtain the appropriate approvals of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Bergen County Planning Board, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
