Ramsey July 18, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 3 Bruce Vozeh has been named Ramsey’s new borough administrator. The appointment took place at the council session held July 11 -- the same day Vozeh resigned his seat on the governing body. Vozeh, a Republican, had served as a councilman since 2005. For the past seven months, Vozeh, in his capacity as chairman of the Council Finance and Administration Committee, has handled many of the day to day functions of borough administration. His resignation created a vacancy on the governing body that will be filled by a council appointment within 30 days. The Ramsey Republican County Committee must supply potential successors’ names to the borough council for consideration within the next two weeks. “Having spent my life in Ramsey, and being an active member of the community, Ramsey is a large part of my life,” Vozeh said. “It has been an honor and pleasure serving the residents of Ramsey during my terms as a councilman. I appreciate the trust shown in me to take on this position and to have the opportunity to continue to work for the people of Ramsey in my new role as borough administrator.” Vozeh appointed to borough administrator’s post Ramsey had been without an appointed borough administrator since December 2011. Edward Sandve resigned from the post for personal reasons in mid-November. After Sandve’s departure, Vozeh undertook the administrative duties without compensation. These duties included preparing and finalizing the borough’s 2012 budget and engaging in labor negotiations with the municipality’s six unions. Vozeh has also coordinated several administrative initiatives over the past months, including critical upgrades to borough facilities and technology. “Bruce has essentially had an ‘on the job’ interview for the past seven months,” Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta stated. “I have spoken to residents and borough employees who have stated that Bruce has done an excellent job of being responsive to the needs of the borough and its residents, and has handled these responsibilities in a highly professional manner. We reviewed many applicants for the position, but the council and I came to the conclusion that Bruce would be the person best suited to the job in light of his knowledge of the borough, his professional and business qualifications, and his dedication to the borough. “I have worked with Bruce during his tenure as a trustee of the Ramsey Board of Education, through his involvement in various recreation programs in the borough, and during his time on the borough council. He has always acted with the best interests of Ramsey in mind, and has been an invaluable asset to the borough. I am looking forward to working with him in this new capacity as borough administrator.” (continued on page 13)
