The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Paul Scarduffa as its new president. Scarduffa is vice president and manager of TD Bank N.A. in

Scarduffa has worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years and remains active as the treasurer of the Bergen Highlands-Ramsey Rotary Club, treasurer of the Park Ridge Recreation and Cultural Committee, and member of the Saddle River Valley Lions Club. He graduated from Pace University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration/management. He resides in Park Ridge with his wife and two daughters. “I believe that 2012 will be a year of opportunity for MRCC and I am honored to serve in the capacity of president. Along with the board, we will continue to build upon the historic body of work this chamber has accomplished and promote new opportunities for members,” Scarduffa said. The board also announced the following appointments: Senior Vice President Martha Harvey of Sharp Electronics Corporation; Treasurer Benjamin Mills, CPA, of Goldstein Lieberman & Company, LLC; and Secretary Sharon Rounds, MRCC executive director. The board’s three new directors are Will Adamo of Crowne Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, Deborah Richin of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and Kathleen Whartenby of KFW Business Support Services, Inc. The following directors were reelected: Angela Clarkin of Mahwah Schools Foundation, James D. O’Connor of Check-M-Out Security Services & Investigations, LLC; and Lovina Schoenmakers of LES Associates. Ryan Devaney, Blaire Thomas and the eighth grade students at Ramapo Ridge Middle School in Mahwah gathered to hear a presentation from Mr. Paul Galan, a Holocaust survivor, as part of their study of ‘The Diary of Anne Frank.’ The students heard firsthand his accounts of his family’s experiences during the Holocaust and his time at a work camp. Galan’s unique story about survival during the Holocaust was riveting, and impacted students and teachers.
