Catherine Maria Bartley, nee Shea, of Ramsey, died Jan. 15. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at William Paterson College in Wayne. She was employed as an English and reading teacher with the Wayne Township Board of Education in Wayne for 41 years. After retirement she became a volunteer at The Depot in Midland Park. She is survived by her husband John Bartley, her children Carisa Bartley of Waldwick, Tara King of Mahwah, and step-son Jeff Hicks of Franklin Lakes, and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings John “Jackie” Shea, and Margaret Bohmer (nee Shea). Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey. De Joie of Mahwah, died Jan. 13. He was 78. Before retiring, he was employed with Abex Corp. in Mahwah. He is survived by his wife Mary (Vita) De Joie, his children Barbara Meytrott, John De Joie, and Karen De Joie, three grandchildren, and his brother Louis De Joie. Arrangements were made by the Scarr Funeral Home Inc, in Suffern, New York. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. John Paul Jannicelli of Mahwah died Jan. 13. He was 48. He was a member of the Mahwah Elks Club. He is survived by his wife Debbi (nee Kaufman), his daughter Melissa Jannicelli of Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, his parents Edward and Jennie (nee Nappo) Jannicelli, and his siblings Cathy Giacobe, Andrea Newman, and Edward Jannicelli. Dorothy May of Waldwick, formerly of Roselle, died Jan 14. She was 77. She had been employed at Exxon (Esso), McGraw-Hill Publishing Company as a personnel manager, and at Ziff- Davis Publishing Company as director of recruitment/community relations, all in New York. She worked as a recruiter for J.S.P. Personnel, Inc. in Hasbrouck Heights. She served on the election committee at Riverside Church in New York, New York. She attended the Hawthorne Gospel Church, where she was a volunteer in the lending library. Her life as the fiancée of all-star professional basketball player for the Cincinnati Royals, Maurice Stokes was depicted in the film “Maurie.” She is survived by her sisters Elsie H. Cox, Almeda P. Woody Funeral Home in Roselle. Robert Buckley McCormack of Montpelier, Vermont, formerly of Ramsey, died Jan. 11. He was 88. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He attended Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts and Syracuse University in New York. He worked in New Jersey and New York City for Federal Paperboard, Inc. as a customer service representative. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Peg), his daughter Cameron McCormack of Montpelier, and his brother George Randall McCormack of Brewster, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by brothers Francis X. McCormack, and Dr. Thomas C. McCormack. Arrangements were made by Guare and Sons Funeral and Cremation Service in Montpelier, Vermont. Box 550, Barre, VT 05641. Dorothy L. Service, formerly of Glen Rock, died Jan. 12. She was 93. She graduated from Rutherford High School in 1936 and Packard Business School in 1937. She was employed as a secretary for Eastern Steamship, Pall Mall Cigarette Co. and W.J. Barney, all of New York City. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Glen Rock. She served as a volunteer at Kurth Cottage for The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, and was a Girl Scout leader. She was the daughter of Joseph E. and Mary A. Brewster Lewis of Rutherford. She was a descendant of William Brewster, one of the original settlers who traveled to North America on the Mayflower. She is survived by her husband George B. Service Jr. of Heath Village in Hackettstown, her children Kathleen Service Coffin of Palm Harbour, Florida, Elizabeth A. Service Seabury of Saint Michael, Maryland, and Nancy Service Marosits of Englewood, Colorado, six grandchildren, and her brother William Lewis of Indialantic, Florida. She was predeceased by her sister Anna May Hand. Arrangements were made by the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home in Rutherford. Memorial donations may be made to The Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. A memorial service will be scheduled in the spring. Marion C. Vance of Wyckoff, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died Jan. 18. She was 75. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her son of Michael R. Vance and his wife Patti of Stanhope, her grandchildren Kaitlin and David Vance, her brother Joseph Cooper and his wife Rose of North Haledon, and his aunt Judy Cooper-Robinson. She was predeceased

William F. “Bill” Yee of Saddle River died Jan. 12. He was 87. He was a U.S. 14th Air Service veteran of WWII. He was born in Kwangtung province in China. At age 15, he came to the U.S. to further his education and to escape the Japanese invasion. Following high school, he studied drafting at Manhattan Technical School. He was employed as an aeronautical draftsman at Bendix Aircraft. He began his own business in 1949, handcrafting and selling “Ming Trees,” replica Asian stunted trees. As the company grew, he and his wife became experts in the United States gift industry, and were among the first Americans invited to China during the Cultural Revolution to begin the dialogue that led to development of trade between the two countries. Under the trade name Bill Yee Associates, the company imported traditional Chinese arts and crafts. He went on to revive the lost Chinese art of inside painting, creating a line of exquisite ornaments. He developed a patented innovation of classic cloisonné ware at age 74 and also received a second patent two years later. He was a member of Saint Gabriel’s in Saddle River. He is survived by his wife Katherine, his children Brian, Christina, and five grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Reorganization

At the planning board’s reorganization meeting, Todd Scherer was appointed board chairman to replace Brotherton. Peter Rudolph was appointed board secretary, and Ward Donigian was appointed assistant secretary. Donelle Bright will continue as the board’s recording secretary. The planning board also reappointed Peter Scandariato as its attorney, Boswell McClave as its engineer, Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis as the water/sewer and special engineer, and Maser Consulting as professional planner. At last week’s board of adjustment reorganization, Charles Rabolli Jr. was reappointed as the board’s chairman. George Cimis was appointed as vice chairman, Benjamin Kezmarsky was appointed secretary, and Wesley C. Whiteman was appointed assistant secretary. Geraldine Entrup will continue to be the board’s recording secretary. Ben Cascio will continue to be the zoning board’s attorney, Boswell McClave will continue to serve as the engineering firm, and Malcolm Pirnie/Arcadis will continue to serve as water/sewer and special engineer. Burgis Associates will continue to serve as professional planner.
