Collegiate a cappella event returns to Don Bosco
Don Bosco Prep’s Chapel Concerts will present its second collegiate a cappella “Sing Off” on Friday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. in Mary Help of Christians Chapel, Saint John’s Hall. Rutgers University’s OrphanSporks, last year’s winner Marist’s Time-Check, and Drew University’s On a Different Note will compete against each other in concert format, performing favorite pop and contemporary a cappella arrangements. The Don Bosco Prep Chorus will also be represented, singing Billy Joel’s “For the Longest Time” and joining Time-Check for one piece. An audience vote will determine the winner. “Last year’s Sing Off was such fun, that we wanted to repeat it this year,” said Toni Bilotti Cecere, artistic director for the Chapel Concerts. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. For additional information, contact Bilotti Cecere at tcecere@donboscoprep.com or visit school’s website, www.donbosoprep.org. The final concert of the 2011-2012 Season of Chapel Concerts will feature the 10 finalists of Don Bosco Prep’s Young Artists’ Scholarship Competition on Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. Don Bosco Prep, founded in 1915, is a private, Catholic college preparatory high school for young men, grades 9 through 12. Accredited by The Middle States (continued on page 17)
