Mayor receives UNICO’s Citizen of the Year award
at Saint Paul’s Church. He is a member of the Ramsey Library Board, Ramsey Planning Board, and Knights of Columbus. UNICO representatives praised Mayor Botta’s work ethic, experience, and devotion. “Chris Botta demonstrates by his continual service to his community and surrounding communities the core values of his Italian American heritage which are consistent with the core values and goals of Greater Ramsey UNICO and its members,” said Lou LaVigna, president of the Greater Ramsey Chapter of UNICO National. The Greater Ramsey UNICO Chapter locally conducts fundraising events with the proceeds used for scholarships, local mental health programs, supporting children with disabilities, cancer research, helping cure Cooley’s anemia, senior citizens programs, promoting Italian studies, and preserving the Italian heritage. Greater Ramsey UNICO recently named Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta “Citizen of the Year” for his long and continuing service to the Ramsey community. Mayor Botta and his wife, Lisa, were present at the award ceremony. Mayor Botta is a Bergen County native. He graduated
from Bergen Catholic High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Holy Cross College and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. In addition to serving as mayor, he heads the law firm of Botta & Associates, and participates in or leads many community activities. He is a coach for youth hockey and soccer, and a lector
