February 8, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 7 Ramsey On March 3, several members of the Ramsey Policemen’s Benevolent Association will participate in the Sixth Annual 2012 New York Giants Snow Bowl to raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey. The event is being held at MetLife Stadium. This official six-on-six flag football tournament with light blocking is played over two days. The Competitive and Recreation Division will play on March 3, and a COED and Recreation Division will play on Sunday, March 4. Registration is limited to the first 80 teams. Teams of up to 15 players are allowed, and all must be 18 years of age or older to participate. The field is 20 yards by 40 yards, and each team is guaranteed three games on the field in the MetLife Stadium. Snow Bowl participation to benefit Special Olympics Food and locker rooms are provided for all players. Each day, there will be an opportunity to win signed New York Football Giants merchandise. All proceeds collected by the flag football teams benefit Special Olympics New Jersey athletes and help foster the Special Olympics mission. The 2012 RPD Snow Bowl Team includes Bryan Gurney, Anthony Fiore, Kevin Cherven, Brian Lyman, Rich Falotico, Rob Hennessy, Jeff Guilfoyle, Bryan Arsi, Craig Weber, Vasili Pieratos, and Mike Parise. On Jan. 13 at 11:37 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Fiore was advised of a suspicious male seated in a vehicle in the parking lot of a Route 17 North gas station. During the investigation, the officer located drug paraphernalia and prescription pills. A Ramsey man, 30, was arrested and charged with possession of prescription drugs with intent to distribute, possession of prescription drugs not in a lawful container, and drug paraphernalia. Patrolman Mike Parise conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 17 North on Jan. 16 at 10:43 a.m. The officer made the stop after observing a view obstruction in a vehicle. During the investigation, an odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle. At the conclusion of the stop, an 18-yearold resident of Wallington was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prescription drug (less than four in possession). In addition, a 19-year-old Clifton resident was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a prescription drug (greater than five in possession) and illegal possession of a Schedule II narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and motor vehicle summonses. Borough Police Department Report At 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, Patrolman Erik Sanders investigated a suspicious vehicle at a North Franklin Turnpike business. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 46-yearold Clifton man was arrested for a traffic warrant. On Jan. 20 at 4:54 p.m., a 28-year-old Ramsey woman came in to the Ramsey Police Department to satisfy a traffic warrant. Patrolman Bryan Arsi processed the arrest. At 8:19 p.m. that day, Patrolman Bryan Arsi conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a traffic violation on Main Street. A 61-year-old Wyckoff woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated. After observing a traffic violation, Patrolman Jeff Guilfoyle conducted a motor vehicle stop at 12:04 a.m. on Jan. 26. During the stop, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected from the driver. After field sobriety testing, a 53year-old Ramsey resident was arrested for DWI. At 11:06 p.m. on Jan. 27, Patrolman Parise conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a passenger litter from a moving vehicle on Route 17 South. At the conclusion of the stop, a Utica, New York man, 22,was arrested for one active criminal warrant and two active traffic warrants. Members of the Ramsey Police Department will compete in this year’s Snow Bowl.
