Police personnel will also be delivering the comprehensive written application forms that must be completed by massage practitioner and returned to the police department with a $100 fee. Jim Hynes to perform at RHS This license is to be renewed annually. The license to run a massage establishment has been set at $250. The ordinance, which was approved in late October of 2011, requires massage establishment owners and practitioners to be trained and licensed in massage therapy. Massage therapists working in Ramsey must also be at least 18 years of age, and must not have a criminal record. The ordinance requires an affidavit from a licensed physician certifying that the massage practitioner is free from contagious diseases, and includes provisions that prohibit illegal sexual activities. “We’ve had issues in certain massage establishments in town that have been tantamount to criminal activity,” Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney told Villadom TIMES last week. He explained that the ordinance will require a degree of accountability for the people who run local businesses. He pointed out that, if an employee of a given establishment is arrested for providing sexual favors, it was still possible for the business to continue to operate with new personnel. In addition, Gurney noted that a person who has been arrested in Ramsey might easily leave the borough and begin working somewhere else.
