Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • December 12, 2012 Ramsey Review Seniors to hear Pizzarelli perform The Ramsey Seniors’ first event of the New Year will be a concert by renowned jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. Pizzarelli and his quartet will perform at 8 p.m. at the Berrie Center in Ramapo College in Mahwah. Tickets are $45, which is payable to Ramsey Seniors and includes van transportation from the senior center. Sign up at borough hall, 33 North Central Avenue. The Crafty Sisters are seeking donations of new yarn for the Christmas blankets the group is making to donate to veterans and hospitals. Donations may be dropped off at the senior center or at borough hall. The group meets on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. at the center. Anyone who wishes to learn how to knit or crochet is invited to join. Upcoming February events will include a bus trip to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse to see “Butterflies Are Free” on Feb. 20. All Ramsey residents over the age of 60 are invited to join. Club sponsors Holiday Giving Tree The Ramsey Junior Woman’s Club is sponsoring the annual Holiday Giving Tree located at the Ramsey Public Library. Members of the community are encouraged to stop by the library to select a gift tag and help to make the holidays a little happier for a fellow Ramsey resident. The tree is decorated with hand- and heart-shaped ornaments made by the Ramsey Juniors, capturing the spirit of the Juniors’ motto: “With hearts and hands we serve.” Gifts should be wrapped, with the tag attached, and returned to the library at 30 Wyckoff Avenue by Dec. 20. PBA collects for Toys for Tots Ramsey Policeman’s Benevolent Association Local 155 launched the 2012 U.S. Marines Corp Reserve Toys for Tots Program with the purchase and donation of $100 worth of toys. The mission of the Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community where the campaign is conducted. Members of the community may drop off new, unwrapped toys in the lobby of the police station located at 25 North Central Avenue. Church in Ramsey has announced its Christmas and New Year’s services and programs. A Deanery Reconciliation Service is set for Saturday, Dec. 22 at noon. This service will be held at Saint Luke’s R.C. Church at Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus. Confessions will be heard at Saint Paul’s on Dec 15 and 22 from 4 to 4:30 p.m. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, four services will be offered. A Children’s Mass will be said at 3 p.m., the Hosanna Choir will perform at 4:30 p.m., a Youth Mass will be held at 6 p.m., and the adult choir will sing at midnight. Masses will be said at 9, 10:30 a.m. and noon on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. On New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, there will be a 5 p.m. Mass. Auditions for ‘Godspell’ announced Auditions for the spring 2013 musical production “Godspell” at Don Bosco Prep will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the school’s De Sales Hall auditorium. Call backs are scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Girls from all area high schools are invited to audition. There will be 40 to 50 roles available. Contest participants sought Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling of Ramsey is sponsoring a Memorial Holiday Card Contest. Participating children are invited to make a card in memory of a loved one by folding a standard piece of paper in half and coloring only the folded half. Magic markers work best. Entries may be horizontal or vertical, and must include the child’s name, age, and the name of the person for whom the card was made. Entries are due by Dec. 14.
