Rodriguez, M.S., of Midland Park, a member of the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors, has received the foundation’s Mission Award in recognition of his distinguished service to the foundation and the college. In his service, he has also helped to fulfill the foundation’s mission to provide “the resources that make the difference in Ramapo College’s quest for educational excellence. Instituted in 1998, the Mission Award is presented each year at the Ramapo College Foundation’s annual meeting. Rodriguez has been a member of the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors since 2004. He is involved with the foundation’s Performing Arts Dinner Series and Planned Giving Committee. He serves as vice president of the Friends of Ramapo and is a past president. He currently serves on Ramapo’s Anisfield School of Business Advisory Board. “On behalf of the board of governors, I am delighted to present Francis with the Mission Award,” said Cathleen Davey, executive director of the Ramapo College Foundation. “He has been an asset to planning our Performing Arts Dinner Series and has been instrumental in increasing membership in the Friends of Ramapo. He is a wonderful example of a board (member) deserving of this honor.” Rodriguez and his wife, Judith, have established scholarships at Ramapo College for students in international business, environmental science, theoretical and applied science, and bioinformatics. Professionally, Rodriguez is associate director of RCC Consultants, Inc. in Woodbridge, a global telecommunications engineering and consulting firm serving public and private sector clients. Syder Scholarship Foundation consists of eight members, many of whom are selected for membership by Syder’s designation. They are as follows: pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey; Ramsey’s superintendent of schools; Don Bosco High School’s headmaster; the mayor of Ramsey; the president of Ramapo College; senior officer of Bank of America’s Ramsey branch; a district Rotary Club representative, and Ohnegian. All college or graduate students who are current residents of Ramsey and meet the academic and service criteria are invited to write to the Edward C. Syder Scholarship Committee, P.O. Application forms must be completed by Nov. 19, 2012. There will be no extension of time. The scholarship awards will be announced by Dec. 10, 2012 and granted for the 2013 spring term.
