TO THE RESIDENTS OF MAHWAH
THE MAYOR SAYS THAT SERVICES WON’T BE AFFECTED IF MAHWAH PRIVATIZES THE RECYCLING. Here is how Mayor Laforet’s plan will affect you:
• Grass Bag Collection WILL be eliminated next year
As per the Mayor
• Township Administrator, Brian Campion states the reduction in workforce “will require the Township to outsource the snow removal”.
At what cost?
• Keith Hallissey, Public Works Director stated at the July 5th Council meeting that leaf collection could be affected.
By how much?!
• 3 of 4 employees proposed for layoff are volunteer firemen.
Will this affect emergency service?
• Even though they were hired as full-time permanent employees, the Mayor keeps insisting these employees are only temporary.
Do you think that is what their families call them?
Available staff will be reduced for: Mahwah Day, Senior Picnic, Town parades, storm clean ups, floods, brush removal, etc …. As citizens, you get all these changes … to save less than $2.00 a month in taxes.
