Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the HoHo-Kus Inn & Tavern was constructed in 1796 by Andrew Zabriskie as a home for his son. Over the years, it has been known by several names, including the Zabriskie House, the Villa Inn, the Mansion House, the Wayside Inn,
the Washington Inn, Estephe’s Hotel, and Paddy Burke’s. The Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus bought the building and property in 1941 in order to preserve the building. Since 1953, it has been leased to a number of different managers, and became a favorite dining spot of former President Richard Nixon. In December 2009, Ho-Ho-Kus residents Gordon and Laurie Hamm and their business partners reopened the borough-owned building. The cost of the luncheon is $35 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members. Advance registration is preferred; an additional $5 processing fee will be charged if paid the day of event.
