Church in Glen Rock and a member of the New Jersey Masters Track Club. Before retiring in 2011, she was a media center technician with Glen Rock High School for 34 years. She is survived by her husband David James, her children Lori James Dennis, Stephen James, and Nancy James, two grandchildren, her mother Stella (Baron), and her siblings Angelo Gennaro and Marilyn Ingulli. Howard “Howie” Kruse of Ridgewood, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died April 12. He was 59. He was a graduate of Bergen Community College and Ramapo High School, where he was a member of their Varsity State Championship Cross Country Team. He was the owner of Howard M. Kruse Lawn Care in Ramsey. He is survived by his children McKenna Kruse of Burlington, Vermont and Alex Kruse of Boston, Massachusetts, and his siblings Kevin Kruse of Pennington and Nancy Connolly of Oakland. George Edward Murphy of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Midland Park, died April 12. He was 98. He attended Saint Peter’s College and Monmouth College. Before retiring, he taught math at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood. He was a founding parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5498 in Midland Park. He is survived by his wife Genevieve (nee McGarry) Murphy of Nashua, New Hampshire, his son Thomas Murphy of Brazil, and his grandchildren Patrick Murphy and Michelle Murphy Koza. Olsen of Mahwah, formerly of Ridgewood, died April 16. He was 87. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He was an employee and elected officer of Union Pacific Corporation for 47 years, serving as corporate secretary and president of the Union Pacific Foundation. He Virginia G. James was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glen Rock, and served as a member of the church’s council. He was a volunteer with the Valley Hospital Foundation, and received the “Heart of Valley” award in 2006 for his service. He is survived by two sons, Christopher of New York and Scott of Ridgewood, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Helen. Arrangements were made by C.C. She is survived by her children Lynda LaVelle of Valley Cottage, New York and Robyn Giaccone of Norwood, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and her sister Dorothy Mauch. She was a member of the Leisure Club in Ramsey, the Ramsey Seniors, and Healthy Bones. She is survived by her two children, and three grandchildren. Snow Company of Mahwah. He is survived by his wife Joan, his children Nancy H. Snow Broderick of Ringwood, Susan A. Keys of Mahwah, Patricia A. Snow Estrada of Franklin Lakes, and Ferdinand J. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1961 and practiced dental hygiene until her 2007 retirement. She was a parishioner of Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She contributed her skills to the work of NOVA: Hope for Haiti. She is survived by her children Amy Elizabeth Stuart, Sarah Ellen Stuart, and James Grieb Stuart, six grandchildren, and her sisters Mary Ellen Martin and Susan Erlemeier. He later earned a law degree from Rutgers Law School. He was a prosecutor for many years, rising to the level of deputy first assistant prosecutor of Bergen County. He was fired from his prosecutorial position in 2000 when he publicly objected to what he believed was a wasted expenditure of more than $5 million if public funds. Muti later taught English, history, American government and politics, and criminal justice at three New Jersey universities. He was elected mayor of Ramsey in 2002, and won election to the school board in 2009. Rockefeller has lived in Ramsey for 12 years. He and his wife, Martyne, have two children who attend the public schools. Alexandra, 15, is a sophomore at Ramsey High School, and Zachary, 13, is an eighth grader at Smith School. He grew up in Bogota and graduated from Bogota High School. He attended Rutgers University and graduated with a BS in accounting. He has spent 25 years working in financial and managerial positions at media and publishing companies, and is currently general manager, group finance director at Hearst Magazines in New York City. Over the years, he has volunteered for various coaching positions with Ramsey Recreation for baseball, softball, soccer, and basketball. He is also the former treasurer for Ramsey Cub Scout Pack 306. He is a parishioner at Saint Paul’s and a member of the Ramsey Triathlon Club. Rockefeller said he and his wife chose to move to Ramsey because of the excellent school system. He said he would like to join the board and take on the challenge of keeping the Ramsey schools up to the very high standards that have been set. Snyder, a 32-year resident of Ramsey, has been a trustee for 18 years and has served on every major board committee. He is a graduate of Northeastern University and his two children are graduates of the Ramsey school system. Snyder has been an active member of the Bergen County School Boards Association Executive Committee, the New Jersey School Boards Association Board of Directors, the School Finance Discussion Group at Rutgers, Our Children/Our Schools, and Dackks Group, a supportive housing program.
