April 4, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 5 Ramsey Nicole Conrad, daughter of Tom and Donna Conrad of Ramsey, and a junior at Ramsey High School, recently earned a top composite score of 36 on the ACT. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies each year, roughly onetenth of one percent receive a top score. The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student’s composite score is the average of the four test scores. Some students also take ACT’s optional Writing Test, but the score for that test is reported separately and is not included within the ACT composite score. ACT scores are accepted by all major U.S. colleges, and exceptional scores of 36 provide colleges with evidence of student readiness for the academic rigors that lie ahead. Conrad is pursuing various Advanced Placement and honors courses at Ramsey High. She is taking AP history, statistics, and English; and honors-level classes in pre-calculus, Spanish, and physics. She has received multiple awards, including the Excellence in Math Award, the Excellence in Writing Award, the Honors Biology Award, the Honors Chemistry Award, the Latin I Award, and the High school junior earns rare perfect ACT score U.S. History I Achievement Award. She has received two Scholastic R Academic Achievement Awards. Conrad is also an active member of the school community, and has participated in volleyball and spring track. Her club memberships have included Interact Club, Leadership Camp, Spanish Club, Student Outreach Service Club, and World Language Honor Society. She will be inducted in the National Honor Society on April 26. Nicole Conrad
