September 26, 2012 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 5 Upper Saddle River The Upper Saddle River Historical Society and the NW Bergen Coalition of Historical Organizations recently joined forces to publish “The Maps of Claire K. New volume features local cartographer’s work Tholl.” On Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., Tholl’s son Robert will discuss this new limited edition book at a special program at the Upper Saddle River Library. Claire Tholl was a noted Bergen County historian and cartographer who spent over 30 years researching and mapping the historic homes of Bergen County, New Jersey and Rockland County, New York. When she passed away in 1995, she left a legacy of maps that are invaluable to historians and genealogists. Tholl’s work was prolific.
