Waldwick
Waldwick Police Detective Sergeant Doug Moore has arrested Joshua Obidzinski, 21, of Little Ferry; Florencio Grolon, 24, of Moonachie; and Shaun Puzak, 22, of Rochelle Park in connection with a Sept. 30 burglary that occurred on Cleveland Avenue in Waldwick. The homeowner contacted Waldwick Police Headquarters at approximately 6:45 p.m. after returning home and discovering

that the residence had been burglarized. Waldwick police officers responded and discovered that entry was gained through a kitchen window at the back of the house and several pieces of jewelry were taken from bedrooms on the second floor. Cash was removed from a purse that was located on the first floor. While speaking with several neighbors, officers were advised of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked across from the victim’s home at 5 p.m. Three individuals were observed walking to the vehicle a short time later. The alert resident recorded the vehicle’s license plate, which initiated an investigation into the three suspects. Det. Sgt. Moore and Officer Adam Garcia interviewed the owner of the car and were told that the car was lent to Grolon earlier in the day. Members of the Moonachie, Little Ferry, Rochelle Park, and Waldwick police departments worked together to identify the suspects and make the arrests. All three were charged with burglary and theft and transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. The trio is suspected in additional recent residential burglaries in Bergen County over the past month. Additional charges in other jurisdictions are pending. Police said it appears that heroin addictions may be the driving force behind their activities. The fact that a neighbor was alert enough to recognize the suspicious vehicle and individuals and took the time to record the license plate was paramount to the investigation, officials said. Without that information, the case would have been much more difficult to solve. Local police departments need the assistance of the community to identify suspicious activity and report it immediately so officers can respond quickly. The department also reported the following recent activity: On Oct. 6, Officer Bill Wright arrested a 23-year-old Secaucus resident and charged
