Memorial service, bereavement workshop set The Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff and the Olthuis Funeral Home of Midland Park will continue the tradition of a Tree of Remembrance to honor the memory of loved ones lost. A dedication service will be held at the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church, 422 Cedar Hill Avenue in Wyckoff, on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m. An eight-foot tree will be decorated with ornaments personalized with the names of the deceased. Family members will be invited to take home the special ornaments following the service. From 6:30 to 7:15, there will be a community outreach workshop, “Grief and the Holidays” in fellowship hall at the church. All are invited to attend. For more information, call (201) 891-3400. Wyckoff Town Hall Menorah Lighting announced The Wyckoff Town Hall Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Wyckoff Mayor Chris DePhillips and local officials will be on hand to join in the ceremony and festivities, which include entertainment, hot Chanukah refreshments, glow giveaways, and a special contest. The free program is sponsored by Chabad of NWBC and is open to the entire community. Feeney hosts Tree of Memories ceremony On Dec. 3, Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood will hold a Tree of Memories ceremony on the front lawn of the funeral home at 232 Franklin Avenue. Attendees are invited to place an ornament that symbolizes the life of a loved one after the brief commemorative service. After the ceremony, cookies and coffee will be served. A unique opportunity for area clergy was recently offered by the Pastoral Care Department at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. The topic for this year’s Fall Clergy Day was ‘Recognizing, Understanding, Coping with, and Surviving the Borderline Personalities in Your Congregation.’ The topic was presented by Rev. Carol L.
