up from a fluffy bed, a squirrel and two chipmunks frolic through autumn leaves, a screech owl protects her baby in a nest, and colorful tropical fish are displayed in fishbowls. Other animals in the collection include a bobcat, cheetah, raccoon, wolf, domestic cat, frog, turtle, and a ladybug. A native of Washington Township, and now a resident
of Lake Hopatcong, Bianchi began painting rocks in 2000 after purchasing a copy of Lin Wellford’s book, “The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks.” Once she finds a rock that is just the right size and shape for a particular animal, the artist uses non-toxic acrylic paint on the hard surfaces to create images that fool and delight the eye. A price list for all of the animals featured in the display is available at the library circulation desk. The library is located at 19 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 to 9 and Friday and Saturday from 10 to 5. For more information, call (201) 652-5104.
