Before retiring in 1980, he was chemist at Diamond Shamrock for 36 years. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of Joseph F. Lamb Assembly #665 in Ridgewood. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He served as treasurer for the Holy Name Society in Bogota. He is survived by his wife Marion (nee: Walsh), his children Thomas E. Howlett of Maywood, Michael G. Howlett of Wyckoff, Vincent J. Howlett of Wyckoff, Marie E. Howlett of Franklin Lakes, three grandchildren, and his siblings Mae Chrisenowski, Eileen Bordt, and William Howlett. He was predeceased by his son Jack. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Sidney D. Lauerman, formerly of Ridgewood, died Oct. 27. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science, received a bachelor’s degree from Pace University, and earned a master’s in business from Columbia University. He had a long career as an executive in the textile industry. He served on the board of the Ridgewood Football Association, and was a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his children Kathleen M. Commin of Ridgewood, Dr. William C. Lauerman of Great Falls, Virginia, Stephen D. Lauerman of Tampa, Florida, and Colleen M. Lauerman of Arlington, Virginia, and seven grandchildren. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She volunteered at Saint Patrick’s School in Jersey City, and was a member of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. She is survived by her husband James J. Monks, M.D., her children Elizabeth McCormack, James Monks Jr., Tony Monks, Michael Monks, Joseph Monks, Robert Monks, Frank Monks, Alyssa Monks, and 10 grandchildren, and her siblings Frank Costa and Robin Costa. Dorothy “Dot” Louise Ade, nee Bartoldus, of Mahwah, formerly of Allendale, died Oct. 24. She was 85. She was a volunteer with the Friends of the Lee Memorial Library in Allendale for over a decade. She is survived by her sons Brian, Robert, and Timothy, seven grandchildren, her sister Florence Refolo, and sister-in-law Barbara Famular. She was predeceased by her husband Bob. She was a hairdresser for Williams Hairdresser in Ridgewood in the 1950s. She was a member of the Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood and its women’s guild. She volunteered at the Bergen Pines County Hospital, providing hairdressing services to elderly and infirm residents. She is survived by her children James
