Upper Saddle River
The Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon Committee selected Mary Wang as the winner of this year’s Youth Triathlon T-shirt Contest. She will receive a new bicycle, compliments of Cyclesport in Park Ridge. The committee reviewed 35 entries before deciding on Wang’s entry. The committee thanks everyone who participated in this year’s contest. All of their entries will be on display at the Youth Triathlon finish line at Lions Memorial Park on Saturday, June 9. The triathlon will begin at 8 a.m. at the Saddle River Valley Swim and Tennis Club, located at 750 Saddle River Road in Airmont, New York and will end at Lions Park on Lake Street in Upper Saddle River. Youths who are ages eight to 14 are welcome to participate in the triathlon, which will include swimming, biking, and running. Participants who are ages eight through 10 will swim 75 meters, bike two miles, and run 1K. Participants in the age 11 through 14 category will swim 125 meters, bike five miles, and run 2K. Entrants will receive a T-shirt, water bottle, and participation certificate. Athletes who come in first and second place will earn trophies for their efforts. One participant will also win a racing bike.

The course is described as “fast, flat, and fun.” Athletes are advised to bring a bathing suit, swim goggles, towel, bike, helmet, participation number, sneakers/running shoes, socks, gym shorts, T-shirt, sunglasses, and water bottle.
