Forum School hosts Walk-a-Thon The Forum School, in partnership with Waldwick High School, will host a Walk-a-Thon on May 4 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. High school students will pair with Forum School students to walk a mile on the high school track. Participating students ask family, friends, and businesses to sponsor this effort through donations. Class sponsorships are also available. Proceeds will benefit the Forum School. Ambulance corps seeks volunteers The Waldwick Ambulance Corps is seeking new members to continue to provide residents with the highest quality service at no charge to patients and their families. Gold Sale to benefit ball The Waldwick High School Graduation Ball Committee will hold a May 3 Gold Sale Fundraiser at Plaza Jewelers, 10 East Prospect Street in Waldwick. Hours will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Participants are welcome to bring their gold jewelry to be sold. Owner Jim Zumbano will donate a portion of the sales to the Graduation Ball 2012 program. Refreshments will be served. National Day of Prayer set The 61 Annual National Day of Prayer will be observed in Waldwick on Thursday, May 3 at the public safety building, 15 East Prospect Street, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Participants will gather at the flagpole to pray for Americas and its national, state, and local leaders. st Pool registrations accepted The Borough of Waldwick is now accepting resident for the 2012 pool season. Waldwick’s facility includes a main pool, a wading pool, a concession stand, and a new swing set for young patrons. The pool, which is located at Hopper Avenue and West Prospect Street, is open from noon to 8 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The fees for Waldwick and Midland Park residents are $55 for adults, $50 for children and $45 for seniors. Rates for non residents are $150 for adults age 18 and up and $125 for children ages four to 17. Children who are three years old or younger are admitted free. Association plans Golf Outing The Waldwick Baseball/Softball Association will host its Second Annual WBSA Golf Outing fundraiser on Wednesday, May 16 at the Black Bear Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds will benefit two scholarships that will awarded to graduating members of the high school’s baseball and softball teams in recognition of their achievements in sports and academics. Register for fall soccer Registration for the 2012 Waldwick Soccer Association’s fall recreational soccer program is under way. The deadline to register is May 15. The association welcomes Waldwick residents from incoming kindergarteners through high school students. Players in grades five and above participate in a travel program affiliated with the Northwest Bergen Soccer Association. Children in kindergarten through grade four are part of the in-town league.
