Club marks fifth anniversary
The Italian American Social Club of Waldwick celebrated its Fifth Anniversary at the Annual Saint Joseph Feast at Macaluso’s Restaurant in Hawthorne. Over 100 guests were treated to a spectacular exhibit of photos recalling the club’s past five years, which have been packed with social, cultural, culinary, and sporting events. Included was a display of historic photos of early Italian Americans in Waldwick dating back to the 1920s. Exotic and popular Italian treats were offered before dinner. The evening’s program included the presentation of gifts from the fundraiser table and the Saint Joseph’s traditional three-tiered altar. Club members danced to music provided by Premier DJ and enjoyed a live performance by popular singer Greg Caldarone. This special evening underscored that Waldwick’s Italian American community continues to embrace both old and new traditions with passion.
