Boye Jr. Humanitarian Award at its 30th Annual Friends of the Y Dinner on April 25. The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Wyckoff YMCA, 691 Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff. This year’s event will be “Goodwill Ambassadors” and will honor five individuals who have been instrumental in creating harmony Wyckoff YMCA announces ‘Friends of the Y’ event Jeffrey Wild Dorothy Van Der Horn Frank Bivona Joann Torack Louis Kilgore and inclusion among others. This year’s award winners are: Franklin Lakes Mayor Frank Bivona, Rev. Louis Kilgore, Joann Torack, Dorothy “Dottie” Van Der Horn, and Jeffrey Wild. Bivona and his wife, Maureen, have been residents of Franklin Lakes for 18 years. In 2009, he was nominated by the Franklin Lakes Republican Club and elected to the borough council. After one year on the council, he was elected mayor. During his time on the governing body, he has focused on reduced spending and paying down debt. He retired three years ago after a 31-year finance career in New York City and Europe. He was a senior executive in the banking and bond insurance business and worked with municipalities on the issuance of debt obligations. He has served on several charitable boards including Junior Achievement and the YMCA of Greater New York and has been active in his community. He received a BS from Adelphi University. Rev. Kilgore is pastor of The Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes. Upon graduation from Grove City College in Pennsylvania in 1978, he taught elementary and secondary school for six years in a private Christian school. In the fall of 1983, he entered Eastern Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and was ordained in 1987. He has served as moderator of the Presbytery of New (continued on page 29)
