The Bergen Catholic High School Mock Trial Team recently completed a successful season, despite being eliminated in the quarter-final round of the Bergen County playoffs. The Mock Trial Competition involves all 21 county bar associations in the State of New Jersey and is overseen by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, which each year provides a case for teams to develop. Students from each school play the various roles of plaintiffs, defendants, attorneys, witnesses, and jurors. Under the guidance of team moderator Peter Coleman, the Bergen Catholic team reached the playoffs of the Bergen County section of the competition by defeating Academy of the Holy Angels, Dwight-Englewood School, and Frisch School. In the quarter-final round of the Bergen County playoffs, B.C. dropped a close decision to Immaculate Heart Academy. The Crusaders were represented by two teams: a prosecution team and a defense team. The prosecution team included AnthonyPaul Shaker of Englewood Cliffs, Joey Pallath of Bergenfield, Gabriel Hobeika of Alpine, Thomas Lahey of Emerson, and Daniel Lowe of Maywood. The defense team consisted of Craig Boswell of Franklin Lakes, Nicholas Didio of Oradell, Nicholas Barile of River Vale, Timothy Corcoran of Allendale, and TimothyPaul Shaker of Englewood Cliffs. Team members who also made significant contributions during the season include Kemuel Noriega of Haledon, Phillip Bempong of Paramus and Patrick Monaghan of Harrington Park, Christopher Heffernan of Mahwah, Luke
