Residents are reminded to bundle papers in stacks that are no more than eight inches high and leave them at the curb the night before. Any papers put at the curb after 8 a.m. on Saturday may be missed. Zumba Night, Garage Sale set The Waldwick Education Foundation will sponsor a Zumba Night on April 20 at 7 p.m. in the middle school gym at 155 Wyckoff Avenue. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10. This mother/ daughter event will feature six zumba instructors. On April 28 and 29, the foundation will hold a Town Wide Garage Sale. For a $25 fee ($20 if received by April 21), participants will have their address included on the sale’s map and receive a lawn marker. There will also be a special contest to win a gas grill. Easter Egg Hunt planned The Allendale/Waldwick PBA Local #217 will hold its 18th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at the Waldwick High School Turf Football Field. Rain date: April 7. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and run until all the eggs are found. Admission is free. Children from Allendale and Waldwick will be grouped by age into the following categories: toddler through kindergarten, students in grades one through three, and students in grades four and five. Participants will hunt for candy, and have the opportunity to win prizes. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to pose for photos with the children. Parents should bring cameras and baskets. Indoor concert series continues The Waldwick Band will continue its indoor concert series on Sunday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at The Village School, 100 West Prospect Street in Waldwick. Under the baton of Edmund A. Moderacki, the band will perform the overture from Herold’s “Zampa” and Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture” as the principal works. The program will also include John Phillip Sousa’s concert waltz, “The Flashing Eyes of Andalusia,” Rachaninoff’s “Italian Polka,” “The Entry of the Peers” from “Iolanthe” by Gilbert and Sullivan, and medley from English composer Noel Coward arranged by Robert Russell Bennett. Johnny Warrington’s “Tailgate Concerto,” a Dixieland piece, will also be performed by members of the band. Marches by Edwin Franko Goldman and John Philip Sousa will complete the program. The concert is free and all are welcome to attend. The Waldwick Band’s next concert is scheduled for May 6. Information about the band is available at www.waldwickband.org. Fashion Show tickets on sale The Waldwick High School Graduation Ball Committee will host its 2012 Fashion Show on Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Seasons Restaurant, 644 Pascack Road in Washington Township. Fashions will be modeled by members of the senior class. The event will feature a DJ, baskets filled with prizes, appetizers, a sit-down dinner, and dessert. A cash bar will be available. Register for football & cheerleading Registration for fall 2012 Waldwick Warrior Football and Cheerleading will be held March 20 in the Waldwick High School cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The school is located at 155 Wyckoff Avenue in Waldwick. Flag football and mini cheerleading will be offered to students who will be entering first and second grades in September. Cheerleading and tackle football are available to those who will be entering grades three through eight. Registration may be entered online at www.waldwickjrfootball.org, but payment and two photos will still need to be delivered on March 20. Registering online allows the association to begin planning for the season. Association plans Golf Outing The Waldwick Baseball/Softball Association will host its Second Annual WBSA Golf Outing fundraiser on Wednesday, May 16 at the Black Bear Golf Course. A portion of the proceeds will benefit two scholarships that will awarded to graduating members of the high school’s baseball and softball teams in recognition of their achievements in sports and academics.
