Jeweler celebrates 60th Anniversary Online auction set
Three vehicles that were being used by the Waldwick Police Department and Waldwick DPW will be sold March 14 via an online auction. The vehicles to be sold include a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria with an odometer reading of 56,890 and a 2007 Chevrolet Impala with an odometer reading of 92,410. Both of these cars had been used as police patrol vehicles. The third vehicle to be auctioned is the 1995 Ford Explorer, which has an odometer reading of 104,113. The Explorer had been used by the DPW superintendent. Waldwick Borough Administrator Gary Kratz explained that the borough provides for vehicles to be cycled out of use after they have been driven for a number of years. He said all three of the vehicles to be sold have already been replaced. According to Kratz, the borough had previously participated in a traditional auction of public property that was no longer needed for public purposes. However, approximately three to four years ago, Kratz said, the borough found that eBay auctions were producing higher bids than the traditional auctions had. He said he expects to see favorable bids offered on eBay again on March 14.
