Maria Donadio Bolton has been appointed to the unexpired term on the Upper Saddle River K-8 Board of Education. Bolton was named last week and was due to be sworn in on Monday, June 11. She succeeds Dr. Jill Stoller, who resigned from the board May 22, and her term will continue until Dec. 31 of this year. Last week, Bolton filed a nominating petition for the November school board election. At that time, she will run as an incumbent against challenger Deanne DeFuccio for the remainder of Dr. Stoller’s unexpired term, which will end on Dec. 31, 2013. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with Maria Bolton in this capacity,” Upper Saddle River Superintendent Dr. Monica Browne told Villadom TIMES last week. “She was very involved in the PTO, having served as vice president for several years, and has provided an amazing amount of support for the school and the students. Her enthusiasm and energy will serve her well in this new role. I’m sure she will do a fabulous job.” Bolton grew up in Oakland and attended Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township. She subsequently received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Marist College. Before she opted to stay home to raise her three children, Bolton was employed by National Office Supply in Hackensack, which was subsequently acquired by Staples. She currently works part time for a local pediatrician. The new trustee has been active in the Upper Saddle River schools for the past 11 years. In addition to serving as a class parent, Bolton spent four years as vice president of the USR PTO board, where she served as the Cavallini Middle School liaison. The trustee and her husband Gavin are members of Saint Gabriel the Archangel Church in Saddle River, where she has taught religious education for over 10 years. “I am very excited to be able to work with the current board and administration on providing the quality educa-
