Everyone is invited to experience the Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber of Commerce’s first Taste of Ho-Ho-Kus, an opportunity to sample signature dishes from many of the borough’s restaurants, participate in wine tastings, and get reacquainted with local businesses and their owners. This event will be held June 7 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., rain or shine. Free parking will be available at the Ho-Ho-Kus train station parking lot on First Street. Proceeds will be used to support the borough’s volunteer organizations, fund a new scholarship, cover the cost of holiday decorations, and help beautify the downtown shopping and dining district. “Area residents are invited to purchase tickets, which will give them the opportunity to ‘taste’ their way through the town’s restaurants – and most are participating,” HoHo-Kus Chamber President Steve Sager explained. “Other merchants will stay open late to introduce themselves once again to residents. In addition, many participating restaurants will be offering deals on a future meal at their establishments.”

Asked about the origins of Taste of Ho-Ho-Kus, Sager said, “It’s an idea the Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber’s Executive Committee has been kicking around since the end of last year. We wanted to try to switch things up. The downtown has faced a number of challenges over the years, including the PSE&G project, the beautification project, and the Warren Avenue Bridge project. The challenge has been that the convenience hasn’t been there. We want to let everyone who used to come to Ho-Ho-Kus know we’re still here. “We’re known for our restaurants, but we’re more than just great restaurants!” He added that many local business owners are friends and neighbors who provide specialty services and products and appreciate the support of the community. Buy your tickets today and prepare for an enjoyable evening of shopping, dining, and relaxing in beautiful downtown Ho-Ho-Kus.
