The NJ Department of Environmental Protection approved the necessary permits last month. “We appreciate the assistance we’ll be getting from the Mosquito Commission. It will save the municipality money,” said Borough Administrator Gary Kratz. The activity will also involve the cleaning and de-snagging of the stream channel at the Wyckoff Avenue bridge. Kratz said installing rip-rap in two major washed-out sections and planting vegetation to stabilize the banks will likely have to be contracted out, since the borough does not have the staff and equipment to do the work. The project is estimated to cost about $160,000. Residents asked the mayor and council to get involved with the project last summer because only the borough could apply for the permits the NJDEP required to do the (continued on page 31) Pascack Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Pascack Community Bank, has announced the appointment of John A.
