Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • July 25, 2012 Allendale The Allendale Community Emergency Response Team recently conducted a missing person drill in coordination with the Allendale Police Department, New Jersey Search and Rescue, and Orchard Commons. The drill was designed and run to hone skills used in actual situations. In the exercise, Teen CERT members participated as res- CERT holds missing person drill in borough idents who had been reported as “lost.” Using the Incident Command System, CERT members established a command post, set up perimeter containment, and deployed canvassing teams to help ascertain the whereabouts of the “missing persons.” Local businesses had been prepared with scripts to follow when canvassing teams inquired about the “miss- ing persons.” Both perimeter teams and canvassing teams used twoway radios to provide details to the incident commander.
