title for sentimental reasons. “It was the book that my son based his commencement speech on when he graduated from Waldwick High School in 2006 before entering West Point,” Giordano explained. “The story teaches us that the road to the future will not always be easy, but prepares us to discover, preserve, and follow our dreams.” The poster of Giordano is one of an eye-catching series
Work began last week on the demolition of Waldwick’s two aging water tanks on Wyckoff Avenue in Wyckoff, now that a new 750,000-gal pre-cast concrete tank is online. One of the tanks is of World War II vintage and the other dates back to 1953. The scrap metal and concrete pad are being trucked away as part of the $916,080 build/demolition contract; the borough will then be responsible for landscaping the site. The borough received an interest-free loan of $1,133,016 from the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust to cover the costs of the project, including state permits and engineering fees in addition to construction costs.
