The Project Graduation Committee for the Class of 2013 at Northern Highlands Regional High School will host a Military Bridge and Prize Basket Fundraiser on March 7. The committee is seeking prize donations from local businesses and individuals. Donated items may include merchandise and gift certificates from restaurants, salons, stores, or other businesses. Cash donations will also be accepted. Project Graduation is an alcohol- and drug-free evening for graduating seniors that immediately follows commencement ceremonies. Families of the seniors who will attend the event pay a fee to help cover expenses. 1733. Tickets for Military Bridge Night are $12 in advance, or $40 for a table of four. Tickets purchased at the door will be $15 each. To purchase tickets, send a check made out to Project Graduation 2013 and mail to: Lisa Barrack, 8 Anona Drive,

Volunteers recognized
Allendale Community Emergency Response Team members recently received certificates of recognition from Governor Chris Christie for their response to Hurricane Irene The awards were presented by Allendale Mayor Vince Barra along with Councilwoman Amy Wilczynski and Allendale Police Officer Sean Hubbard. Mayor Barra also thanked CERT for setting up and staffing a relief shelter at Northern Highlands Regional High School during the October snowstorm and power outages. Twelve new members were recently welcomed to the team, including nine teen CERT members. The spring training class will begin Feb. 29 at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah.
