Beethoven series continues On Sunday, Feb. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m., Calvary Lutheran Church in Allendale invites the community to its continuing series, “Afternoons with Beethoven.” Learn more about the life and music of Ludwig van Beethoven from Allendale resident Louis Hinchliffe. A performance of several of Beethoven’s masterpieces will be performed by Albert Stanziano. Stanziano is an accomplished chamber music pianist whose New York appearances have included Steinway Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the National Arts Club, Merkin Hall, and the Military Academy at West Point. The ticket donation is $10. Refreshments will be served. Advance purchase is encouraged as seating is limited. Calvary Lutheran Church is located at 165 West Crescent Avenue. The church facilities are completely accessible to those with special physical needs. Chamber plans meeting The Allendale Chamber of Commerce will host a Feb. 14 breakfast meeting at 8:30 a.m. at Louies’s Place, 29 West Allendale Avenue. School board session set The Allendale Board of Education will meet on Monday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Brookside School Library at Brookside Avenue. Military Bridge Night benefit set The Northern Highlands Junior Class of ‘13 will host a Military Bridge fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 7 in the Northern Highlands Cafeteria. The event will feature an evening of cards, friends, prize baskets, homemade desserts, and refreshments. Military Bridge is a simple game that can be learned in minutes. Sign up in groups or singly. Tickets are available in advance at $12 each, or $40 for a table of four.
